Monty finished his championship with his 2nd specialty win at the LRCSC under Betty Graham (Graemoor) and 3rd major!

He then went on to win Best Of Breed at the HDLRC Specialty Show under Mr. Michael Woods (Waterdog)!

In February 2009, Julie and Monty attended and competed in their first Westminster Kennel Club Championship Dog Show at Madison Square Garden in NY. Here they made it through several cuts and were in the final small group from when the Best Of Breed was chosen- not bad for a bunch of "firsts" all of the way around! Monty's OFA page

 

Monty is a true part of our family. He is a clown who loves everyone- human or dog, and lives for post-handling-class romps in the park with 10-15 other labs belonging to local lab club members, both boys and girls, puppies and adults. Our dogs live inside our home with us, our 3 cats, and our rescued one-legged parrot, so good temperment and manners are a must. Monty quickly learned to out-swim our Libby in the search for pool toys (we never thought that was possible!), and even dunks his entire head under water to retrieve things off of the bottom steps! Most of the time, one toy just isn’t enough, though- Monty is much happier greeting everyone with three toys hanging out of his mouth! Monty’s motto is “If one is good, then three is better!” The world is his playground, and he lives to make us laugh. Thank you so much, Leslie and Michael Plank of Forestwood Labradors, for trusting us with this beautiful silly boy!

February 2009- Monty earns AKC's Rally-Novice (RN) title, all scores in the 90's!

October 2008- Monty earns a Working Certificate (WC) and 1st leg toward AKC Junior Hunter title at LRCSC Fall Hunt Test!
